Who Is Qualified To Take Paid Medical Surveys?

Paid medical surveys are a great way to earn some extra cash while helping to improve the medical community and overall health and well-being of people in general and sharing your medical expertise. But many medical professionals may assume that these surveys are only for doctors. That couldn't be further from the truth.

Each reputable website that offers paid medical surveys has certain criteria you must meet to sign up. Some are more specialized than others. For example, some may focus on certain areas of medicine, such as pharmaceuticals, oncology, and neurology, while others offer a broader set of topics. Once you sign up, you'll find that some surveys are only aimed at people who work in certain fields or who have certain jobs. Either way, you don't necessarily have to be a physician to sign up. Let's look at who else can sign up to get paid for taking medical surveys.

Physicians, Surgeons, and Specialists

Of course, physicians do top the list of professionals who qualify to take paid medical surveys, and they typically receive the highest compensation, especially if they have years of experience. Surgeons and specialists with experience in cardiology, oncology, pulmonology, and neurology are especially sought after. All you have to do is prove you're an official medical doctor, which usually means sharing your licensing information and a little bit of background info about your career.

Nurses and Nurse Practitioners

If you're a nurse or nurse practitioner, you may find that many surveys are also aimed at you. Again, the more experience you have, the better. You may qualify for even more paid surveys if you've worked for years in a certain specialty, such as oncology, obstetrics, pediatrics, or cardiology. Make sure you look around at different sites, as some actively seek nurses in certain fields.

Medical Students and Residents

Even if you're on your way to becoming a physician or a resident who doesn't yet have much experience, you'll find that opportunities are available to you as well. Even med school students and professors in related healthcare fields can find opportunities.

Pharmacists

Many organizations offering paid medical surveys are pharmaceutical companies looking to create and improve upon medications and medical devices for improved care. With this in mind, it only makes sense that many surveys are also available to pharmacists.

Dentists

Not only are dentists and other oral health professionals welcome on general paid survey sites, but there are a few sites with surveys aimed specifically at improving the dental industry. As with a physician, you'll need to prove that you're licensed and how much experience you have.

Nutritionists and Dieticians

While you may not find as many opportunities as a cardiologist, there are paid surveys available for nutritionists and dieticians who want to earn a little extra. As you might imagine, they center on food, how food affects the body, and other dietary rules and guidelines.

Veterinarians

Some people take better care of their pets than they do themselves, which is why the veterinary industry is booming. Many sites looking for physicians and other human health care professionals also have space for veterinarians who can help improve the world of animal care.

Therapists

Whether you're a psychologist focused on improving mental health, a child therapist who focuses on pediatrics, a physical therapist who helps people move, or an addiction therapist who helps people overcome problems with drugs and alcohol, you'll often find that you are welcome on paid medical survey sites. As with doctors, you may need to prove your expertise and experience in a certain area of therapy.

Clinical Social Workers

Some sites may welcome social workers, especially clinical social workers. If you work in a hospital, private practice, clinic, or another healthcare setting, it's worth looking to see if any surveys apply to what you do.

Technicians

Many paid survey sites welcome medical technicians with open arms. After all, you do a lot of the hands-on work in most healthcare settings. You're the one using equipment to draw and test blood, take extras, perform ultrasounds, and test vital signs. Companies that make medical equipment may be especially interested in hearing what you have to say.

Medical Executives

You don't necessarily have to have a clinical job to qualify to take medical surveys. You may find options available if you're an executive or administrator in a hospital, clinic, or physician's office. Not everyone who works behind the scenes will qualify, but you never know unless you try.

Managed Care Professionals

Those who work in managed care or the insurance industry may also qualify. Your job title, duties, and years of experience may impact your ability to sign up for some sites.

Anyone Else Who Works in Healthcare

Physician assistants, midwives, eye care specialists, phlebotomists — many others who work in the healthcare industry may qualify to take paid medical surveys. The best thing to do is shop around. Don't get frustrated if one site only wants physicians and pharmacists. Go to the next one. If you have experience in a particular area of expertise, look for that too.
