1. Base Culture Breads and Brownies

You might think carb-heavy breads and brownies are off limits in the summer when it comes to indulging wisely, but that's where Base Culture comes in. The company focuses on offerings that align with the Paleo diet, which means that most products are grain-, gluten-, and dairy-free. By using natural ingredients free from artificial preservatives, you'll know that these "cheat" foods won't completely sabotage any dietary guidelines that you may be following.

Our favorite was the almond butter brownie. We found it more akin to a protein bar since it was a little dense, but these little guys pack a 6-gram punch of protein for the entire bar. Their breads are no slouch either. The paleo pumpkin bread was sweet, but not overly so, and was the perfect accent for a breakfast brussels sprout hash we whipped up one morning.

2. FBOMB Nut Butter

That's "F" as in "fat." From the husband-and-wife founders of Love You Foods, FBOMB nut butters and oil packets are an easy grab-and-go source of energy that won't wreck your beach body. The nut butter packets are proudly "NOT low-fat!" They are perfect for anyone following a Keto or Paleo diet, as they are low on carbs. Not only that, they have no added sugar, no GMO ingredients, are gluten- and dairy-free, are vegetarian- and vegan-friendly, and are made using macadamia nuts instead of peanuts.

With four different flavors to choose from, we found them to be the perfect pit-stop snack on a recent hiking trip. They were easy to throw in a small pack and didn't weigh us down. In fact, a handful was lighter than the bottle of water we were carrying. One word of advice--give the packets a good massage to mitigate any natural separation inside the packages before eating. You don't want a mouthful of pure oil when you're expecting macadamia nut butter.

KH Greek Yogurt

3. Kite Hill Greek-Style Yogurt

Kite Hill is a great choice to get a protein jump-start on your mornings—whether you're dairy-free or not! These Greek-style yogurts are particularly high in protein, coming in at 11g for the unsweetened flavor and 10g for the other flavors. The unsweetened plain is a notably healthy offering with only a single gram of naturally occurring sugar. That's not a typo. One gram! Throw in some granola for some extra fiber or top with sliced fruit of your own to keep the added sugars in your diet in check.

4. ONE Bar

We should start off by saying ONE Bars taste good. That may seem like a low threshold, but if you've ever had a protein bar in the past you'll know what a struggle that is for companies to attain. No matter how healthy a food is for you, if it doesn't taste good then it's not going to be integrated into your diet plan. Just passing a simple taste test isn't enough for ONE Bars to land on our list, however. At 20g of protein and 1g of sugar, these filling bars will keep you from indulging in unhealthy snacks and will save your beach body for spring break and summer vacation seasons!

Living Intentions

5. Living Intentions Superfood Cereal

That makes this cereal both filling, tasty, and extra beneficial to your immune and digestive health. Living Intentions Superfood Cereal is great as a traditional bowl of cereal, but it can also be enjoyed on top of your favorite yogurt, mixed in with a smoothie bowl, and even added to at-home trail mix to enjoy on the go.
