Is Bell's Palsy Permanent?

Bell’s Palsy is a condition in which the facial muscles suddenly become weak, making it look like one side of the face is drooping. Research is still needed to find an exact cause. However, swelling and inflammation of particular facial nerves are suspected. The first two days are the worst, but symptoms generally improve obviously within the first couple of weeks. Treatment isn’t even always necessary, although there are things that can help in some cases.  A complete return to normalcy can take half a year. While it isn’t permanent for most people, in some rare cases people face recurring episodes or symptoms never fully leave.
