Hair Loss Remedies

Whether your hair is beginning to thin due to aging or you are experiencing rapid hair loss at a young age, there are a few home remedies you can implement that may help slow the effects.

Remedies are available for both genders and all ages, although their effectiveness greatly depends on the underlying issue that is triggering your hair loss.

Check for Underlying Health Problems

If you are unsure why you are suffering from alopecia and you do not believe it is due to age, it is highly recommended to check with your doctor for underlying health problems that can be determined with simple blood tests. Getting blood tests can help to determine whether you currently have an underactive thyroid gland, which is also known as hypothyroidism, that contributes to brittle hair as well as the loss of hair altogether.

Coconut

Coconut contains an array of ingredients that are natural and beneficial to your hair. The milk within coconut itself provides minerals, fats, and proteins that strengthen the hair overall. The coconut milk also contains iron and potassium, which reduce the amount of breakage your hair has regularly. Massaging coconut oil and coconut milk into your scalp routinely during showers helps to eliminate and reduce the amount of hair loss you experience. You can also use a mixture of actual grated coconut and coconut milk on specific areas of your scalp and head overnight, followed by a rinse of water in the morning, for additional conditioning and alopecia protection.

Hibiscus

In addition to helping slow the effects of alopecia, hibiscus flowers also contain rejuvenating ingredients that can prevent and cure dandruff. Hibiscus is also ideal if you are looking to prevent the graying of your hair. Using real hibiscus flowers mixed with either coconut oil or sesame oil is a way to create a lavish mixture that you leave on your hair for a few hours before rinsing with shampoo and cold water.

Eggs

Because eggs contain plenty of protein, minerals, sulfur, iron, zinc, and iodine, they are ideal to help with regrowing hair. Reversing the effects of alopecia can be done by mixing eggs with olive oil; using just one egg white along with a tablespoon of olive oil is a good ratio. Gently pour the mixture over the scalp, leaving it on for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing it with water.
