5 Signs You Should Consider Tattoo Removal

Choosing tattoo removal isn’t always an easy decision. People aren’t generally enthusiastic about things that are expensive and hurt, but unfortunately that’s the removal process in a nutshell. If you’re on the fence about the procedure and are waiting for a sign, it may already be right in front of you.

  1. It’s holding you back professionally.

Unfortunately, tattoos and the workplace don’t always mix. While more progressive businesses may have no problems with your ink, there are still plenty that want their employees to be tattoo-free. If you find yourself being passed over for jobs that you’re otherwise qualified for, it may be time to think about tattoo removal.

  2. You can’t stand the sight of it.

Aside from a vision from some divine power, the fact that you don’t like your tattoo should be the biggest sign that tattoo removal is right for you. Living with a bad tattoo day in and day out can begin to wear at you, and in extreme cases, negatively impact your self-confidence. If you have the means and desire to do so, there’s no reason you shouldn’t take this step to make yourself happier.

  3. You broke up.

Even though you may be highly embarrassed that you were branded for love, take comfort in the fact that you’re not alone—tattoos of lovers' names are one of the most commonly removed kinds. Just because things didn’t work out between you and your beau doesn’t mean you have to wear an eternal reminder of your failed romance. Do it for yourself, but more importantly, do it for your future love interests.

  4. It’s cramping your style.

If you’re constantly frustrated at having to coordinate your wardrobe around your tattoo, then it may be time to ditch it. You can only “make it work” for so long. There’s nothing wrong with having a fashion passion, and if your tattoo is doing nothing but constantly clashing with your threads, then return it for something less restricting.

  5. You don’t want to be a hypocritical parent.

If you have kids or are planning on it in the future, just remember that “Don’t get a tattoo” is not going sound as convincing coming from someone inked from head to toe. If you don’t want your kids to go down the same path you did, then it might be best to make a u-turn yourself.
