We all have bad habits we’ll regret in 10 years. As a culture, we’re scared of looking back and regretting the way we lived our lives. We’re scared of seeing what might have been if we had lived life differently. We wish we could live our best life now but often times, we don’t know how. We can see this fear and longing for the past reflecting through pop culture throughout the years.
For example, look at the highly praised 2017 movie La La Land, the end of which shows two lovers who have gone separate ways but reflect back on what their relationship would have been like if they hadn’t put their careers first. The popular sitcom How I Met Your Mother is a show where the narrator talks about the years that he wishes he could have again. And classic film is no stranger to this feeling of wishing we knew all the good that is right in front of our faces: It’s A Wonderful Life show that we should take advantage of the life we have before it’s too late.
This fear isn’t a bad thing to have as long as it does inspire us to live our best life. Sadly, we often don’t know what to do. We haven’t lived 10, 20, or 30 years into our future, so we don’t know what we’ll regret. We managed to find a lot of things that we’ll all regret if we don’t fix them now. These things range from our relationships with people to our health and habits. We want our entire life to be better, and we want yours to be better too. Here’s what we’ve got to fix.
